16th to 9th

Well I’m back… I spent 3 days and 3 nights in a suburb of New Castle (about 150km north of Sydney) for the mixed nationals tournment. In total there were 23 frisbee teams there. We went in ranked 16th and were the lowest ranked in our pool. To be a contender, we knew we had to have a good first day, which we did, we ended up winning 2 of our 4 games and moved up to the top half of the tournament. Unfortunately playing with the big boys on the second day was a little too much for us and we lost all three games and were therefore religated to battle it out for 9th spot. We really wanted to play well on the last day but we knew we had to play as a unit, not to mention recover from the night before. Turns out that we play better after a night of drinking, we ended up winning our last three games and coming 9th overall. So that means that my club is he 9th best mixed frisbee team in the nation and that we were the highest seed jumpers (if I’m right), we managed to finish up 7 spots ahead of our seed. Not bad at all considering every team we played against had a higher seeding than us.

All in all the tournament was a lot of fun, both on and off the field, but it was really tiring, we played 10 games in 3 days! But there’s no rest for me, I have to get back to school work, too many papers and projects. Not to mention frisbee league starts up tonight.
