I gotta admit, being on a single-sex ultimate team is a whole new experience for me and I was wondering how it was gonna end up. But I don’t know whether it’s the fact that I lucked out and have a good group guys or if this is just the way it usually is, but I’m totally enjoyin’ my team. This weekend we were just outside of Cleveland for No Surf, it was my first real experience at a single sex tourny, I gotta say I like it. It’s a slightly quicker/more intense game then coed. That being said, we went into the tourny ranked 18th (out of 25) and finished 12th. So being able to jump our seeding was such a good feeling. It was the first real tourny of the season for the team, so it was either gonna be sink or swim, and we swam… more or less. We only had 14 guys there, usually we like to have 16-19, but it ment lots of game time and that’s what I like… running, running and more running, it gets you in shape, fast!
I find it amusing how many people have misconceptions of frisbee, there are quite a few people who don’t know anything about it, I think the best example has to be the US customs agent:
(US Customs) “So where are you boys headed?”
(ROY) “To an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in Ohio”
(US Customs) “So where’s you dog?”
Dog? ’scuse me? If you’re one of the masses out there that don’t know how to play… check it out, it’s a highly addictive game for sure!!
