athletes in antiperspirant ads

Don’t know what it is, but I have a problem with athletes in antiperspirant ads. First of all, doesn’t antiperspirant clog the sweat glands? Secondly why would any athlete be worried about how much they sweat during a competition? If they do, then they’re too much of a princess and shouldn’t be playing the sport to begin with. Oh shock, you’re a high-calibre athlete, god forbid you should have some sweat marks, you won’t want anyone to know tht you were working hard out on the court/field.

The reason I bring this up is b/c I’ve been watching a little Wimbledon and have seen Sharapova’s Degree ad too many times. While I understand they the ads are trying to say that if the antiperspirant can keep you dry during a sporting even, everyday activites will be no problem. But still, the idea that athletes want to stay “dry” during their most intense competition… I’m not a fan.

Oh and speaking of WimbledonC’MON HEWITT!!
