oh the pain

So I’m back from MTL and I don’t think the tournament didn’t go as well as hoped. To say we were slow in the first game and a half is a little bit of an understatement. I don’t know what it is, it happened in Cleveland as well, but we have trouble raising the intensity first thing in the morning, even when we have a first round bye. but from some reason at half time in the second game we decided to come out and play. While we didn’t win that game, we did with the two games after that but couldn’t continue our run into the second day. Just hope that we can bring it together for this weekend’s national qualifiers. With a possible four Ontario spots up for grabs, we’re gonna have to work hard to make it.

Downside of the weekend: My friend and I got to Montreal before the rest of the team, so we decided to walk around and check out a bit of the world famous Montreal Jazz Festival. I was in my Birks and it takes a while to work them in properly, well I’m still not there b/c I was getting a blister, not good just before a tournament. So I took them off to walk a bit, not good, downtown MTL is DIRTY! So after a small bit of glass in my foot, I re-sandeled hobbled back to the hotel room where two teammates went to work on my foot extracting it. It’s amazing how such a small piece can hurt. But the blister didn’t get any better, defo made the weekend’s running around painful. And the pain will continue for a while while the big blister heals. I feel like such a gimp.

Upside of the weekend: having not been in MTL for over two years, it’s been a while since I’ve been back. Not to mention, I used to live there, so it’s always good to see it again. But I also have friends that live there, some I haven’t seen in a year and a bit, some I haven’t seen in four years. While I didn’t see everyone I wanted to, I did manage to see a couple and I gotta say that I love seeing friends I haven’t seen in a while. Can’t wait to go back.
