Bushism

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

So I was given a daily calendar of Bushisms for Christmas and I’ve been diligent in not looking ahead. I’v had many a good chuckle on Bush’s command of the English language, but I couldn’t resist not sharing today’s.

“I was raised in the West. The est of Texas. It’s pretty close to California. In more ways that Washington, D.C., is close to California.”

- Los Angeles; as quoted by the LA Times; April 8, 2000

And just for fun, I’ll share with you yesterday’s as well.

“One of the most meaningful things that’s happened to me since I’m been the governor - the president - governor - president. Oops. Ex-governor. I went to Bethesda Naval Hospital to give a fellow a Purple Heart, and at the same moment I watched him - get a Purple Heart for action in Iraq - and at that same - right after I gave him the Purple Heart, he was sworn in as a citizen of the United States - a Mexican citizen, now a United States citizen.”

- Washington, D.C.; January 9, 2004

Oh Mr. Bush, when will you learn not to go off script?! I wonder if he’s capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time.
